first post!

So I've decided to create this blog since my schedule does not seem to lend itself well to long conversations often, & I usually forget half of what I wanted to say by the time I schedule a phone call haha.

So, today Cat, Ilinka, & I decide to go yard sale-ing. We stopped by the Atrium first for breakfast & coffee, & then hit the road. We mapped out 3 that we wanted to go to last night, but on our way to the first one on our list, we found 3 others by following signs. This continued the entire morning. By noon we had hit 11 (yes, 11!) yard sales, & were sufficiently worn out.
We returned to campus, where I was introduced to the majority of my residents' families (today was Family Day). Family Day means the Birch & Pav are STOCKED & looking all fabulous, so Cat & I went to Pav, with our containers, & got some fab food. I took 3 kinds of apples to try, & then my usual chicken & romaine leaves. Then coffee, of course.
We then walked over to the bandshell where Family Day festivities were going on (Cat signed me & her up as a family a few days ago haha). I got a small-ish pumpkin, played some games, & ran into a lot more residents & friends. good times.
Before long it was time for dinner, & we went to Birch to eat & stock up some more =] haha. it's an art.

Anyway, back to the yard sales. We hit 11, & here is what I got:

The first yard sale was a woman's who just closed a stationary shop. All the boxes of brand spankin new cards were $1! Here's 2 sets of christmas cards, both with $17 pricetags, & a cute photo album that I think I'm gonna give to Steve cause it's cute & European-y.

Speaking of stationary, here is a VERA WANG card set! The price tag says 28 bucks, got it for 1!

Cross-stitch fabric I got for free thanks to my fab bargaining skills.

Lantern thingy I got for free, still in the packaging & everything! It slides down so the light can be concentrated at the bottom like a flashlight too.

$1 globe. probably gonna be saving this for steve too haha.

50 cent cross-stitch. probably gonna be for pastor & kim

quote magnets I got for free

$3 of books. Chicken soup for the College Soul, since I am now in college. & the Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan. She was the keynote speaker at Wellness' Celebration of Hope last year & I never bought her book (though I read it) so I decided to =]

My New York snowglobe! $3, from Saks Fifth Avenue originally. It also plays music, that new York song that is currently escaping me, but when you hear it you know what it is. that one.

A close-up of the snowglobe. It's the buildings, then 1 side has the statue of liberty, another the bridge, & another a taxi.

Here's a fun basket-y letter-holder-y thingy that i liked & was worth 50 cents.

& last but not least is a mug I got, probably gonna goto someone as a gift =]

I also got 2 legit brass faces- the drama ones that are the happy & sad one. They're in Linka's room right now though, but they were $1.50 for both. legit heavy brass. I'll post a picture later.

OH, & here's my betta fish, Jesse! You haven't seen him yet! (Box of Joe in the background hahahaha). he's so cuteeeeeeeeee!

& here's the knife I told you about before. bananas!

All right, my blackberry's just about cleared out picture-wise now haha. Hope you enjoyed! Talk to you later, miss you!
